Ikigai Women’s Leadership Circle

In the culture of Okinawa, ikigai is thought of as “a reason to get up in the morning;” that is, a reason to enjoy life. In Dan Buettner’s TED talk, ikigai is proposed as one of the reasons Okinawans have such long lives.

We invite you to join us as we form a unique women’s group to generate collective insight, energy and wisdom to support and fuel the expansion and creation of your best life. We are using the ikigai framework as inspiration to generate clarity, meaning and purpose.  Our intention is to create a group of dynamic women who will inspire and propel you toward your commitments and help you fulfill them with bold actions.

This intimate group will be facilitated by two professional coaches who will join you on your personal journeys as we jointly explore, discover, and clarify how to think about where you are versus where you want to be and generate an inspiring plan for getting there.

You will receive new tools, coaching (one-on-one and group), peer-to-peer mentoring, and enjoy the fruits of a dedicated investment in yourself.

This invitation-only group is highly curated and created for women who are experiencing or planning for inevitable life transitions including but not limited to:

  • Career progression
  • Career pivots
  • Legacy building & planning
  • Parenting or childcare, eldercare, empty nesting
  • Graceful aging, relationship balance & self-care

Course Structure and Content

生き甲斐 – ‘a reason for being’

Our role as facilitators and coaches is to create a unique environment of support, confidentiality, and trust to safely explore your current situation and goals.  We will use the ikigai framework to identify alignment or gaps in four quadrants:

  1. What you are good at
  2. What you love
  3. What the world needs
  4. What you get paid to do (or what you want to get paid to do)

The ikigai framework is a powerful and effective lens to explore your life journey (yesterday, today and tomorrow) while making connections between your current professional role or situation and your true calling, which are grounded in your passions and reason for being.

Once you have clearly articulated your personal mission and how it relates to your professional and personal commitments and passions, you will be able to establish simple yet meaningful goals and courageous commitments, while creating a clear action plans to achieve them.

Along the way, the group will explore provocative questions: Where are you unstoppable?  Where do you sell out on yourself? Where are you comfortable with being uncomfortable? Do you have secret or latent aspirations? Where are you mindful, content, at peace?
